We had a very pleasant surprise at the Great Wall Hotel. Despite the hotel being a little tired, our room was spacious, clean, and had a comfortable bed with quality linens. The service was adequate and friendly, and any issues we had were immediately addressed - when the safe box in our room didn't work, they sent someone up right away to fix it. The lobby was also nicely decorated, adding to the overall pleasant atmosphere. The hotel's location was convenient, although the walk to the metro felt a bit long in the cold weather. The included breakfast was just okay, with some initial issues in terms of table clearing and clean plates, but it improved as the days went on.

The room we stayed in was fantastic! It had a great view from the window and was very spacious. We had all the amenities we needed, including a large flatscreen TV and a lovely bathroom with all the necessities. The hotel also had beautiful gardens that just needed a little bit of love and care to bring them back to their former glory.

The staff at the hotel didn't speak much English, made communication a bit difficult. The concierge especially was not very helpful when I left my phone in a taxi.
